The Acadia® is the perfect uniform boot for mild climates. Made in the USA, the Acadia® features Danner’s famous stitchdown construction, giving it a more stable platform underfoot and superior durability. This boot has waterproof GORE-TEX® lining and a combination upper of 1000 denier nylon and full-grain leather. The steel toe offers protection in hazardous conditions. The only complaint we’ve ever received on them? They last too long. Guilty as charged. Vibram® Kletterlift outsole is specifically designed for comfort and durability. The heel provides lightweight comfort as well as superb shock absorption. The compound guarantees great traction and stability on both wet and dry surfaces. 400g grams of Thinsulate™ Insulation offer lightweight warmth for those needing protection in cold climates Stitchdown construction provides a wider platform for increased stability underfoot. Full-grain leather can be easily polished and is preferred by those in uniform and on special tactical teams due to its durability and ability to be cleaned quickly. The microporous structure of the GORE-TEX® makes the boot completely waterproof. Each microscopic pore is 20,000 times smaller than a drop of water, which means no external moisture or water can penetrate the membrane. The pores are also 700 times bigger than a water vapor molecule, so perspiration can easily evaporate through and you can stay dry from the inside out. Thinsulate™ Insulation: For years, many outdoor enthusiasts have selected Thinsulate™ Insulation because of its performance characteristics. Extremely thin and very lightweight, Thinsulate&trade insulation maintains most of its insulating characteristics when wet. The insulation is made up of thousands of tiny microfibers that trap miniscule pockets of insulating air space, providing cold weather protection. Stitchdown Construction: integral to the Danner technology family, stitchdown construction provides a wider platform for increased stability. Danner stitchdown boots can be re-soled, adding years of life. First the upper is shaped to conform to the last, then flared out and cemented to the midsole. Then the upper and midsole are stitched together with heavy, interlocking thread to create an even more secure attachment. Finally, the outsole is cemented to the midsole/upper unit. No one makes better stitchdown boots than Danner. This Vibram® outsole features a lug design with substantial edging capabilities and superior traction. The rubber compound maintains its shape and properties in extreme heat.
